Ben Wilson started MZJ after completing a graduate degree in robotics from Stanford University and working in Silicon Valley designing products. MZJ benefits from his in-depth experience in robotics, custom machine tools, electronics design, and software gained while working on cutting edge projects such as the Google self-driving car and aerospace automation equipment.

For larger jobs involving engineering and production, we prefer to take the whole job as a design+build contract that favors successful delivery of working parts over piecemeal engineering fees or hourly contracts. We find we can deliver complete production-ready designs much faster and more cost effectively than working with 2 or 3 other teams, particularly since we are intimately familiar with typical Chinese manufacturing methods AND we have the ability to interface with overseas/English speakers, meeting typical expectations and communication style.
If we are going to join an existing project we prefer the opposite approach: it's better to start out with a small piece and work up to more as the project communication, working style, and capabilities of the other teams become clearer.
